The Too Tough To Tame 200
Saturday, August 14, 2010
Darlington Raceway lived up to its name as the track too tough to tame Saturday night as Ken and the number 2 KHI team worked from start to finish to capture a 10th place finish. On a day that featured 17 drivers eclipsing the track record during qualifying, a strong 6th pace starting position was lost when electrical problems forced the Stubbs BBQ Sauce Silverado to start from rear of the field. Ken and crew chief Butch Hilton spent
the first half of the race playing for track position, moving into the top 15 by the half way flags.
Unfortunately, the crew was unable to free up a very tight race car and Ken spent the all night wringing the most possible out of the truck. His 10th place finish was not for lack of effort as every pit stop advantage was used to make major changes to the truck in an effort to gain additional speed.
Ken’s 10th place finish was his fourth top ten in five starts for KHI this year. Ken has an average starting position of 13th and an average finish of 11th so far this season in the Camping World Truck Series.
There is no time to look back as the KSR team will be loading up in Concord for a Tuesday departure for Bristol Motor Speedway for Wednesdays O’Reilly Auto Parts 200. Ken will be driving the number 52 KSR Federated Auto Parts Chevy.
Coverage starts at 7:30 pm on SPEED Channel as well as your local MRN radio affiliate.

There’s really only one reason for this post: Since you have already looked at this demo web site and just hit your refresh button, you can see how quickly and simply a website managed by the WordPress CMS can be kept up to date! Everything you have looked at so far is infinitely variable – to your or Ken’s taste, with thousands of themes available to make schraderracing.com as up to date and personal as you want it to be!
But what you haven’t seen yet – which is, in fact, more important – is how easy this can be managed and kept up to date. From start to finish, a post or page on this website can be uploaded and published in the time it takes Ken to take the checkered flag and get to Victory Lane! And here’s the really good news: Using this kind of content management system means anyone with a few hours of hands-on training can be your web expert – you call someone like me when… or IF… you need me!
It really isn’t rocket science – as much as some web developer’s would like to make you think it is. (They make more money and keep people afraid of the technology if they manage to accomplish that goal!)
There are some things that need to be looked at in order to move to a better site. A short summary of what you need to think about is HERE. (Click the word “HERE” and you will instantly go to a page where I’ve outlined some of those things.)
I would be glad to sit down with you, in person or on the phone… or for that matter, online like this page was published… and see how I can help you more. In the meantime, you might want to look at this particular demo site and compare it to what Ken Schrader Racing currently has “live” on the Internet.
Stuart can perhaps answer many questions – in a couple of hours one evening in West Virginia (with Ken’s car outside in the parking lot!) I was able to bring him fully on board to manage a site like this.
A bit more about how this works can be found by clicking the links below. For your convenience, I’ll keep this demo site running and active on one of my servers for a while. You might want to log on and look this over a bit more. (Remember that it has a temporary home and name here: www.rodgersellers.com/ksracing/.)
Good luck with the new directions opening up for you all at KSR!

Ken Schrader and the No. 82 Red Bull Team will run the 2010 Shootout
January 7, 2010
When NASCAR announced a revised format for this season’s Shootout race, two-time Shootout winner Ken Schrader come knocking on Red Bull Racing Team’s door. With Schrader’s past winner spot and a No. 82 team eager to start the season, the pairing just made sense. Schrader will pilot the No. 82 red Bull Toyota for the February 6 feature race at Daytona International Speedway. Scott Speed, the full-time driver of the No. 82, is not one of the drivers eligible to compete in the Shootout. Speed will take back the reins of the Red Bull Toyota for the Daytona 500 on February 14th.
“Kenny’s desire and dedication to the NASCAR has always made him a favorite among fans and throughout the garage area,” said VP and General Manager Jay Frye. “We’re excited he approached us with the idea and are looking forward to giving him the opportunity he deserves and has earned.”
The NASCAR veteran earned a starting spot in this season’s race by winning the event in both 1989 and 1990. Schrader has graced the high banks of Daytona 45 times in his 25-year NASCAR Sprint Cup Series career, leading 298 laps and earning seven top-five and 22 top-10 finishes.
“I am tremendously excited to be in a top-caliber car,” said Schrader. “Pairing up with a strong teammate like Brian Vickers and the whole Red Bull organization for this event has me on cloud 9.”
